REGISTRATION & INSPECTION

Wendy’s registration number: 146982
Louis’ registration number: 146983

As required, our Registration Certificates are displayed in the entrance hall.

We will notify you in advance where reasonable and practicable that we are to be inspected where we have had notification of a forthcoming inspection.

We will notify when an inspection has taken place and a copy of the inspection report will be supplied by us or can be downloaded from www.ofsted.gov.uk.

DATA PROTECTION ACT 1998 & CONFIDENTIALITY

We are registered with the Information Commissioner as we hold information and records on our computer. These are used to enable us to be aware of the needs of your child and meet those individual needs, your preferences, and allow us to make contact with yourselves or other designated individuals when required, particularly in an emergency.

Our pc is password protected and our external back-up drives are encrypted as these contain information, records, photographs and videos of the children.

With your help we will endeavour to ensure these records are accurate.

Records relating to individual children are retained for a reasonable period of time, e.g. three years, after the children have left the provision.

We are aware of the need to maintain privacy and confidentiality; however, they will be made available to those who have a right or professional need to see them.

We expect parents to keep private and confidential any sensitive information they may accidentally learn about our family, setting or the other children and families attending, unless it is a child protection issue.

If a child is identified as a child in need (section 17 of the Children Act 1989) we will, normally with the parent’s permission, give appropriate information to referring agencies.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000

Parents must be given access to developmental records about their child. A written request must be made for personal files on the children and we must take into account data protection rules when disclosing records that refer to third parties.

Parents should be allowed access to all written records about their children, (except in exceptional cases where data protection laws stipulate it is against the best interests of the child to do so), and, where requested, comments from parents are incorporated into children’s records.
