Registered Childcare Special Considerations Policy
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS February 2010
It is very important to consider that amongst the many children in our setting, some may have specific needs in addition to standard health & safety and hygiene.
Ideally, food and drink given to individual children should not be passed between them to prevent cross infection and it is preferable that children are seated when eating and drinking to prevent choking and to encourage acceptable social behaviour.
Additionally, we must consider that some children may have strict dietary observations, for religious or medical purposes, and we must not allow their food/drink to be contaminated or there could be serious consequences.
Please help us to meet this need by observing in our home the following rules:-
* Please do not give any child, (except your own, of course),
any food or drink without first checking with us
* Please to not take any child out of the highchair before hands
and faces have been wiped clean
* Please do not take any child out of the highchair with food
and drink - these should be left on the table out of reach
* Please do not bring your child into the house holding food or drink,
(or coins in a hand or pocket which has been known!)
Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.
